One of UK’s foremost DJ championing the #Afrobeats movement is Dj JamJam, a british born DJ who thrives on playing African songs most especially Nigerian songs has been signed to Aristokrat Records and is to become alternative genre singer Burna Boy‘s Official DJ. JamJam famed for his Alanta moves while Djing is currently on a tour with Burnaboy also talked about moving to Nigeria and starting a syndicated radio in coming months. He brings his prodigious mixing ability and potent accompanying visuals to become the official DJ of Aristokrat Records.
DJ JamJam AKA Oyinbo Swagger (White Boy Swagger) came to prominence on the London club scene playing at establishments such as Movida, Merah, Club Jalouse, CC Club, Taman Gang, Juju Bar, Cokobar (ClauseBar), Guvnor Bar. He progressed onto concerts at London’s O2, Hammersmith Apollo, Troxy, Stratford Rex and London’s legendary live music event “I Luv Live” which has brought the likes of Tinie Tempah, Jessie J, Ed Sheeran, Professor Green, Emeli Sandi, Taio Cruz and N-Dubz to the stage.
International fame came in the Afrobeat scene after a successful tour of Nigeria where he appeared on national prime-time TV and Radio networks and headlined the Alanta Carnival 2009 in Lagos.
He has become a regular guest DJ on BBC 1Xtra and appeared on TV stations such as VOX Africa, HITV, BENTV. Alongside his BBC 1Xtra guest DJ responsibilities DJ JamJam has launched his very own radio programme, The JamJam Afrobeats Show which airs on London’s Westside 89.6FM and internet’s Jamrock Radio. The show receives large podcast downloads making it ranked the #1 afrobeats podcast in the world bringing it to the top of the iTunes podcast feature page.
